Heard a rumour that UK's Tesco markets were coming to the US, and decided to investigate. Here's a link to the article, but Tesco lovers abroad, what's your take on the stores?
As long as it's not in my backyard I don't care. I need Tesco, like I need another Home Depot or Dunkin Donuts.
Interesting. I guess it's going to be coming to the Bay Area pretty soon, then, because communities here have been fighting Wal-Mart tooth and nail. I assume that being from the UK they aren't as anti-union as Wal-Mart, which means they should be an easier sell in the heavily unionized California grocery store industry.
My English supermarket loyalties are more Sainsbury's than Tesco, but Tesco label plain (i.e. dark) chocolate bars with fruit and nuts are superior. And dare I hope for all those yummy biscuits that are so expensive/hard to get here (I came home from my last trip with a suitcase full of Jaffa cakes).
