Dinner near Angelika theater?

Hi,

I am meeting my sister for dinner before a movie and am looking for a good, casual dinner recommendation. Is there still a Vietnamese place called Mekong or something nearby? Also if anyone has thoughts on L'Orange Bleue I would be interested to hear.

    I'm not a huge fan of Noho Star and I would avoid Kelly & Ping if at all possible.

    I like Lombardi's (on Spring and Mott) for pizza, although Arturro's is good, too

    I'll second Bianca (on Bleecker btwn Bowery & Elizabeth) for Italian

    Cafe El Portal (on Elizabeth btwn Spring & Kenmare) is good Mexican (but the margaritas are pretty bad)

    Ushi Wakamura on Houston is fabulous Sushi, too - superior to Tomoe in my opinion

    Great Jones cafe is real fun, too.

        Noho Star is casual, with consistently good prices and good food (not awe-inspired, but generally quite tasty). A few blocks west (on thompson): arturo's, lupa, tomoe sushi -- all really good.

          Also, you might want to check out the new wine bar Centovini. Opened in conjuction with the Moss design people, lots of Italian wine by the glass with Pugliese dishes. Location is right across the street from the theater.

            I would suggest Jane on W. Houston - just a few blocks from the theater.

              i second jane, good food, decent prices, fairly large so you can get in without a wait
