Queenie's Roadhouse Cafe--Elk CA

I found this little breakfast joint while exploring the coast along Highway 1 north of SF. It's called Queenie's Roadhouse Cafe. It's located about 10 miles south of Mendocino. It's in a little town called Elk. Queenie serves breakfast and lunch everyday except Tues and Wed. She's open from 8-3.
Everything is organic, fresh, homemade. The servings were HUGE, and so delicious, we had to eat there twice. I couldn't finish my breakfast each time.. Just so much food.
I got the Maxer omelet that was stuffed with fresh baby spinach, not cooked. I had the option of potatoes and stuff, but I opted for the fresh mixed green salad.
I can't say enough about the quality and presentation of the food.
And Queenie won my heart over.. She bent over backwards to please everyone in the restaurant the mornings I was there. No request was ignored.
She even serves free trade coffee.
She's talking about opening another restaurant in Mendocino.
Go check her out. But go there hungry.
