My favorite place to eat in all of New Mexico is up for sale. This place has great BBQ and it always so pleasant to eat under the cottonwoods.

To be honest, there are really no BBQ restaurants to speak of in Northern New Mexico...seems like it's mostly green chile this, red chile that.

It's realy nothing fancy, picnic tables, with beautiful scenery and wonderful ribs and briskit.

This place received an honor from Gourmet Magazine as one of the top ten roadhouses in all of the USA.

It appeared to be closed, when we passed by last Tuesday, returning fromTaos.

          Oh.

          Thanks, Pete

It's been for sale for quite some time -- great spot for atmosphere but the food is only so so.

Gosh, I beg to differ. What did you try? The Brisket platter and the Ribs served on Fri and Sat is very good, comes with a whole bunch of sides. I know we don't have much BBQ in Northern New Mexico but what we little we have, it's pretty darn good. One gets tired of green chile this, red chile that!

Sorry -- I was thinking of Embudo Station. Don't know Sugar's at all.

NO, it just went on the market... I think you are mixing it up with the Embudo Station down the road.

We stopped by Sugars last Saturday and had the combo dinner (beef, ribs and links - only on Fri and Sat) and everything was quite good. The cole slaw is better than good. They smoke only with fruit wood, apple at the moment.
