Butcher shop/fish spot near Mir Mile/Bev Center

Sick of ralphs, pavillions etc and looking for a good place to buy steaks and other meats and fish in the neighborhood...miracle mile/beverly center area...thanks hounds.

    Go to the Farmer's Mkt where there are quality merchants in both categories. Whole Foods Mkt. is also just across the street, so you can cover several bases while in that area, congested as it may be.

      Thanks for the info...my issue is I hate big stores/parking lots/etc and the farmer's market is not a quick in/out...wondering if any place I can just pull in, nab some steaks, and be on way home...

        Don't know exactly where, but there's a couple of kosher butchers in that neighborhood

          Okay, here is the ultimate solution: Harvey's Guss meats. It's near Fairfax and Olympic.

          He sells prime beef to the top restaurants in town and will get you just about anything you want, including chicken. This is basically a wholesale operation but he is happy to sell stuff to you, too.

          There is, however, a specific protocol to be followed when ordering. You must call in your order the day before and you must pick it up no later than 1:00 p.m. the following day. Bring cash.
