I'm taking my younger sister out to lunch today. I would like to find a nice, but casual restaurant near 55th and 6th. Thanks.

Also Molyvos, one of the city's best greeks; and don't forget the famous Carnegie Deli. Both on 55th and 7th. Also, angelo's coal-oven pizza is near there somewhere.

Brasserie LCB (fka La Cote Basque) is on 55th St., b/t 5th & 6th Avs. Excellent renditions of French classics. Very attractice surroundings. In addition to the a la carte menu, they have a $28 lunch prix-fixe. You can view the menus on menupages.

Also on that block, La Bonne Soupe. Much more on the menu than just well-prepared soups.
