I love love love artichokes. I had the roman jewish style artichokes at Tevere last night. They were amazing!!!!!! very crispy garlicky leaves and the heart was so creamy and tender. anyway before I make myself to hungry, I am looking for other places that serve really good artichokes. What other restaurants serve a good fresh artichoke dish? By fresh I mean that they dont use canned. I like canned artichokes but that I can eat in my house easily.

I haven't been to Tevere, but I like the Carcioffi alla Giudia at Col Legno, 9th St. just west of 3rd Av.

It's a pizza place, but I had the most amazing artichoke appetizer at Arturo's last year.

Houston's has a really great grilled artichoke appetizer...not always on the menu, so it's hit or miss, but they're worth checking out. Come with a really good remoulade dipping sauce.

oh an easy one -- the fried artichokes (maybe roman style?) at trattoria del arte across from carnegie hall. addictive, at the bar with a martini, the perfect way to start your evening out (or end your day at work...) mmmmmmmm, fab!
