Thermomix - The new Cuisinart?

I just read this and thought chowhounders might be interested. It's the newest do everything machine.

    It's been around for years in Europe, extremely popular in Spain, also in parts of Asia. Only way to buy it here is via demonstration by an approved distributor (basically someone who owns a machine). Amanda Hesser did an article in the NYT Sunday Magazine on this late last year.

      It sounds like they just haven’t turned to the US market yet. They don’t have one with US voltage or an English cookbook/instruction manual. When they do, I can see it being the next hot kitchen item.

        They do sell in the US already, have for several years, and there is a fairly decent English cookbook and instructions that come with it.

          It's an older model apparently....

          but a new toy, oh goody! Only this one I'll have to start saving for!
