99 to go menu

Just been to the ninety nine restaurant to pick up a to go menu, when looking at it I noticed on the cover they will be adding a 3% packaging charge. I find this crazy. e-mail the 99 and they e-mail back they do charge in some of there restaurant. I would like chowhound opions.

  1. I have never been charged it at the one near me. The only thing I ever get there is the fish and chips, they do a good job on it. the boneless buffalo wings are decent too.

    1. 99 is one of the worst chain restaurants I have ever been subjected to. I had to eat there once because they were the only place open in a small town at the time. I had a roast beef sandwich which was the weirdest texture of anything I ever tasted. I don't think it was even meat, but I don't have an idea of what else it could have been, except just awful.

I can't believe they have the nerve to charge for packaging. They should be glad for any sort of business.

      1. I agree Rosetta. I last went maybe 7-8 yrs ago? And maybe a total of 2-3 times. It was bad even for a chain. I used to like Ruby Tuesday (again, on a "chain scale") but they now compete w/99 for Worst Chain.

        1. I have never been a fan of Pub 99. Some people on my team at work were fans though and frequently selectd 99 for offsite team lunches. Thankfully, the 99 recently changed their buffalo sauce in a way that does not meet the approval of my teammates, so the 99 has now been scratched off of the team lunch list.

          Ah, small victories!
