Sumile lately?

I had a marvelous meal at Sumile about a year ago, and followed up with a visit to Jovia which I didn't get at all. I know Josh deChellis has left Jovia, and wonder if he is still strong at Sumile & if anyone has any more recent experiences to share. Also can't recall if it is possible to sit or dine at the bar in the entry corridor. While I am at it, would be interested in other well-conceived, well-executed Franco-Japanese. Is March a good choice in this category?
