St Paul Rumor - I Nonni (lilydale) is taking over the Vintage on Selby Ave

Rumor has it. I Nonni will keep their current Lilydale local - they've been looking high and low for wine bar space and I heard that they are taking over Vintage - which has great space.

Thoughts - I like the bar at Vintage - used to go as a last stop before Lenny opened up the heartland wine bar on St Clair.

But I never really ate anything at the Vintage that I would let a friend of mine eat. I don't think I've ever actually sat at a table and ordered a full meal - but I've split a few items at the bar and never really liked anything.....

Again - this is a rumor coming to me second hand. Anybody hear anything similar??? I think it would be a great spot for something a little different - and IMO you can't go wrong with I Nonni.

Not a rumor anymore -- it's in today's Pioneer Press! I'm really glad to hear it; I agree with you that the bar is a nice spot, but the food has never been very good. Here's the PiPress story:

      Woohoo! Susie scoops the PP!

Sadly, I've never been to either spot, so I have no opinion on whether this is good or bad news. But, it sounds like the two of you think it's good news, and that's encouraging!

Ate at I Nonni a couple of years ago and it was stupendous. Only time I've seen guanciale on a Twin Cities menu. I promptly ordered it. It was terrific. This is great news!
