Because our little group has lost over 50% of its staff in the past year, the powers that be have finally decided to give us a little pick-me-up. We need a restaurant within walking distance from 40th and Madison and all cuisines are welcome. We will be a group of about 6.

Go wild, and thanks!!!

Michael Jordan's. Good steaks in a one of a kind setting.

11 madison park or tabla...as long as it's not 90+ i'd call that walkable when the boss is paying!

Or let him stick you all in a couple of cabs - for cripes sake, for a pick me up lunch, let him splurge a bit.

All the suggestions so far as good ones. Of the two close ones, I'd pick L'Impero over Michael Jordan's -- unless, of course, your office mates love steak. And, frankly, if that's the case, I'd take the short hike to Keens, which I like better than MJ's.

Another nearby possibility is dbBistro Moderne. If you want to go further north, there's L'Impero's gussier/more expensive sister restaurant, Alto. Also in that general vicinity are Town and The Modern.

MJ was a great hoopster, but a terrible baseball player and steakhouse.

              Metrazur?
