ISO Landjaeger

Non Cognomina Jul 26, 2006 04:28 AM

When I was in Seattle I used to get a German dried sausage called Landjaeger from the Bavarian meat shop in Pike Place Market. They also sold them at the grocery store in my neighborhood. I'm wondering if anyone knows where to get them in the SF bay area. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

According to this old post, The Junket in El Cerrito.

Dittmer's in Mountain View has award-winning Landjaeger.

I looked at the Berkeley Bowl last Thursday and didn't see it there--where did I miss it?

Berkeley Bowl sells the Saag's Landjaegers. They are wrapped individually and kept at the corner between the two left-most cold cases in the take away/deli area. $1.82 ea.

The Pasta Shop at the Market Hall carries Nueske's (WI). They're much smokier than the Saag's. I think they run $12.95 a lb.

                Yup, that's where they are.

I believe Golden Gate Meats in the Ferry Building also carries Neuske landjaeger.

Crossroads Market on Jackson in Hayward carries some imported ones.
