Tuesday evening, I detoured to Duarte's in Pescadero on my way back to the City. I'm happy to report that unlike my previous disappointment, this piece of peach pie ($5) was everything it should be. My faith is restored!

For the visitor who was wondering how long it would take to drive to Duarte's, I was passing Vasili's and Donnelly's on Mission in Santa Cruz at 4:45pm and arrived at Duarte's 45 minutes later. Traffic was pretty congested approaching Santa Cruz on Hwy 1 from the south starting around Aptos and got worse at the interchange with 17, finally clearing north of town.
