Will be in Akron and need to get a birthday cake (not too expensive hopefully). Any suggestions for good bakeries there?

Also any more suggestions for good restaurants, inexpensive to moderate, in Akron, would be welcomed.....

Thanks for your help!!!

I would definitely recommend the West Point Market,http://www.westpointmarket.com/Displa... 1711 West Market Street. There is are a few large local grocery chains, Acme Click and Giant Eagle. They both have a respectable bakeries with reasonable prices on decorated cakes and such, but they won't be up to the standards of the West Point Market(very high quality).

There is another bakery that I mistakenly forgot about. Crest Bakery,
880 North Main Street, Akron, OH 44310

My friend is a baker there and the cakes are good.

For cassata cake if that is what you like.

      As for restaurants...
      Bricco

      Nice semi-upscale with friendly bartenders.
