Any recent feedback on La Folie?
I'll be heading there tomorrow for my wedding anniversary, and I'm wondering what recent experiences people have had with particular dishes. The only menu I can find online is from this past December. I'm not sure that I feel the need to go whole-hog with a full tasting menu, but it looks like even with their 3- and 4-course menus there are options aplenty. Also, do you know if it's possible to have wine pairings (by the glass)with the 3- and 4-course menus? Thanks in advance.

I've not been at La Folie recently, but echo the comments about the portion sizes. In fact, when we first entered, I noticed a line-up of large logo-ed bags near the front door. Turns out that portions are so huge, nearly every table had a marked bag holding their leftovers.
One nice touch, though, was that if you only had a little bit of something left, they gave you a new, full portion in the doggy bag.

I went this spring and also fell into the less than wowed category. I loved the foie, and was less impressed with my fish course or the poultry. I expected the poultry to be heady with truffles and it just didnt deliver. My companion seemed to enjoy his beef entree very much.
I posted a fresher impression at the time.
Please tell us what you think.

I'm sorry, I can't much remember the specifics, but I was there recently and really wasn't impressed. I vaguely even remember what I had. The thing to know going there, I think, is that the portions are HUGE for a french restaraunt-so get the smallest tasting menu-everything we got was the size of an entree in a non-french restaraunt, from the apps & soup to the main dishes to dessert.

We had a wonderful meal there in June. See the link to our report below.
We went for the 3-course menu, but noticed the portions were much larger than those that came with the 4- or 5-course menus. Next time I think I would select the 4- or even 5-course menu for greater variety ... I don't think you end up with that much more food than we got with the 3-course menu (which was still almost more than we could finish!)
