my boyfriend recently moved to the west village, at horatio and greenwich st. i love the neighborhood and have a some places i like, but wanted to get more suggestions. favorite spots for brunch, lunch, dinner, linner, dessert, bakeries, tea houses - anything food related! it would be nice to have some inexpensive/moderate options along with the pricier places. thanks so much for your help!
places i like (in no particular order):
murray's cheese (yum!)
mary's fish camp
the spotted pig
havana alma de cuba
blue ribbon bakery
some other good, reasonably priced options
Cafe Asean - southeast asian
Galanga - thai
Sapore - cheap italian
Trattoria Corallo - also cheap italian
(okay it's soho, but check it out)
Ghandi Cafe - indian
Taim - falafel
Cafe Condesa - brunch, but also good clean spanish lunch/dinner
Milk & Cookies - ummm...well...milk and cookies
Jacks Stir Brewed Coffee
Grey Dogs Coffee
Joe the Art of Coffee
Chocolate Bar - retro chocolate/dessert spot (cheap-moderate)
Cones - good ice cream spot (moderate)
Cru - great wine list and food (pricey)
Lassi - good Indian (especially their namesake drink; inexpensive)
Try La Cantina for mid-priced Italian in an intimate setting.
Its on 8th and Jane.
For well made drinks and small bites Employees Only on Hudson and Christopher.
For Rustic but formal French American try Mas off Varick on Bedford (I think).
I agree with Mary's Fish Camp. One of my favorites.
For Vegitarian bites and Coffee in a super casual atmosphere try S'Nice on 8th just south of 13th street.
thanks guys! i'll definitely try your picks, as you have mentioned several places that i forgot to list that i like. esp. coffee shops - chocolate bar and s'nice. i also like doma - any other coffee shop recommendations?
also, good delivery?
johnny rockets (ha!)
