Milwaukee--Habanero's Mexican Kitchen

Has anyone eaten at this place on Highway 100 yet?

From the name and their sign, I would have thought that this was a Qdoba/Chipotle-type take-away taco & burrito shop. But a peek in the window shows it to be a sit-down restaurant and a pretty nicely appointed one too. The bar appears to be pretty high end also (I recognised Patron and Don Eduardo bottles in addition to the usual Sauza, Cuervo, Herradura, etc.

A really good Mexican place on the west side would be most welcome. The only other decent place North of National Avenue and west of Cesar Chavez that I can think of is Burrito Bueno on Appleton Avenue near Hampton.

I've been there twice for dinner and once for lunch. The food is excellent the service is great - lots of classic options as well as some more traditional tastes. If you are a fan of Margarita Paradise or Fiesta Garibaldis you will recognize some of the waitstaff since they are transplants from those places.

On the west side, I like Margarita Paradise on 111th and National and Fiesta Garibaldi on 50th & Bluemound.
