Stork on the Roof - NEWS

Walked by Esco-Pazzo on Yonge Street south of Eglinton tonight and I noticed it is closed and there is a sign on the window saying the Michael and Jennifer (formerly of Stork on the Roof) will be opening their new restaurant QUINCE in this location. Great news!

All I know is that they will be opening sometime this fall and their preparations are being filmed for an episode of the Food Network's "Opening Soon".

This is terrific news! I was horribly depressed when I found out that Stork was closed. During my pregnancy, when I worked on Merton, I would walk up to eat lunch at the Stork at least once a week. Twice, if my hunger pangs got the best of me. I really loved having Peter as a server and I can't tell you how much I miss those lovely dishes! Any news on about when Quince will be opening?

I was booked in for a lunch at Esco-Pazzo and actually walked in to find a knot of people eagerly pouring over draft seating plans for Quince. Looks exciting!

That is great news. I think they had taken time off because they had a baby. Between Mirabelle, Tabule, Zucca, Five Doors North and hopefully now Quince, that little stretch south of Yonge and Eglinton is hopping with good food/value restos.

Sadly enough, Jen and Mike did not have a baby after all.
Their former restaurant, Stork on the Roof, (their first venture) was a fixture in the neighborhood for 9 years. I missed the Stork; you could always count on getting great food and service there. I hope this shall also be the case for Quince. I wish them well.

Funny enought, I walked by it the other night and noticed the sign was down as well. I actually enjoyed the food at Esco-Pazzo. I will have to do my research on Quince.
