Thanks for the heads-up I've been craving ribs and was heading that way tonight. What's a good back-up in the zone?

If you need to be immediately in the area, you could go to San Remo Italian on Woodman and Victory, or to any of the Thai places on Sherman Way between Woodman and the 170.

There's a Peruvian place on Vanowen at (Woodman? Hazeltine?) called Marilu that I keep meaning to try.

      I do like Hoggly Woggly's. Some don't.

Cannot recommend the pork sandwich though. Dry.

We get the spare rib sandwich. Not really a sandwich. Nice portion of ribs with a side and bread.

We ask for the ribs without the crust. Many lick the chared flavor but not us.

I don't know where you live but if on a quest I do recomment Porky's in Inglewood.

A little further north is Bear Pit BBQ.

Grandpa Fred's only serves beef ribs but they are among the best in LA.
