Spitz Cafe in Eagle Rock

How's the doner kabab sandwich here? Is it more like sharwarma sandwich rather than a skewer of kabab?

Also, is the gelato really that great? and where do they get it from?

Someone mentioned they bring it in from a joint in San Francisco.

i was just there on sunday and i think they have a new wrap option (instead of the panini bread). i have tried the falafelite, chicken, and classic (a mix of lamb and beef) sandwiches and i like the classic the best. i am also not an expert on doner kebabs, i just think they taste good. i wouldn't expect this place to be authentic anyways; it's fusion. it's not a skewer; they shave the meat off the kebabs with a knife.

OK, but I would like the sandwich better if they had an option to get it on pita bread. The sweet potato fries are terrific. Next time I will get the fries alone.

      Have not tried the gelato.

I personally liked the doner kebabs, but that being said, I'm no expert on such matters ...

The gelato ... I like very much, lots of flavor varieties to choose from ... dunno where they get it from, however, and don't really care cuz it's pretty good.
