Between Foster City and Belmont - around $15-20/entree?

Any recommendations for a semi-nice place in this area for a group of 6-8 people for a Thursday night? fairly quiet would be great. Thanks!

A place that doesn't get much buzz on this site, but which I find consistently good is the Iron Gate restaurant on El Camino in Belmont (just south of Ralston). Nice atmosphere, very extensive menu with 9 entrees under $20. You should ask for a quiet corner table. My favorite here (since they stopped serving abalone) is the Calmari Steak Dore, which is the best version I have had in the area and, after a few bottles of wine, starts to taste like abalone.

No online menu to check prices, but you might want to look into Divino, which is Bacco's new venture in Belmont.

Kabul in San Carlos would fit your price range, but no guarantee that it will be quiet.
