Koda (?) Sushi in Silverlake

Went to Koda right near the new Gelato place, which is a pretty good desert and was packed. Koda is a nouveau sushi place. It has all the nigiri you want, a few rolls, and imaginatively-named dishes and "fusion rolls". It's moderately priced and a nice atmosphere, with a patio in the back. Sushi was okay. The sushi (we ordered three rolls) took more than thirty minutes. My friends waited an hour for their order, then left. Nothing too great.

  1. Save up a few extra $$$ and go to Saito. Had dinner there on Friday 'cause spouse wanted a fishie. His prices are a little higher than they were a couple of years ago, and they were a little crowded (there seemed to be an Asian ladies' senior golf team there..) but it's always good, and I can't imagine Saito-san ever keeping
ANYONE waiting a half hour for ANYTHING!

    1. I think the sushi at Koda is rank. Nothing was fresh when I went there, and they were out of half their menu (which leads me to believe they don't buy fish daily - ugh). The service was beyond slow and the sushi chefs were just plain annoying with their exaggerated "HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!"'s every time someone placed an order. It was like bad sushi theater.
