All U Can Eat LOBSTER! Yum!
Now that I've got your attention. Their is a lovely casino in the town of Santa Inez (located roughly 40 min north of Santa Barbara) which has a buffet on Wednesdays to die for! This Seafood Buffet goes from March to roughly Sept/October. The price is $20.00 per person and includes all the seafood one would expect, fried shrimp, crab legs, fish, oysters on the half shell etc. BUT the one thing they do have which I have yet to find at any other eatery in Ventura/Santa Barbara county is all you can eat LOBSTER. NOW this isnt the tiny "slipper" lobster or crawdads dressed up to look like lobster, lobster stew etc.
These are FULL sized head and tail on pound and a half lobster. You can load up your plate with however many you wish to eat (dont be wasteful. eat what you take). They are served with clarified butter and the taste is FANTASTIC. I would visit this buffet for the other seafood items alone and the prime rib which is also out of this world, but LOBSTER???
You owe it to yourself to try this place out. I go there at least a couple times a month. Check out: The Chumash Casino website. There is even a shuttle bus which will pick you up at various locations for 11 bucks. The casino gives you back 10 of it back in free casino play, so your roundtip cost is only 1 dollar! And thats on an air conditioned bus with a restroom!
Check it out. You wont be disappointed.
I thought the steamed lobster lacked flavor and I don't believe that it is drawn butter but a butter like product served with the lobster. I did enjoy the steamed clams and a couple of the desserts. Although a bit disappointed, Mr. OICU812 and I are trying to find a quiet Monday to test out the Mexican Buffet at Chumash.
The Spa Casino in Palm Springs also has all you can eat lobster on Tuesdays. On Saturdays, they have all you can eat steak and lobster.
The lobster is tasteless now. They don't serve the whole lobster where you could get the lobster roe and paste out of them any more. /Iwish they would re-start the old days when they served the whole thing.
