Need Recs for Lowell to Lawrence area

Thanks to all who answered my last post.

I just found out that I need recs for good mid-priced American and chinese restaurants in the Lowell to Lawrence area. Have a nice week!

Directly acroos the street from SE Asian is Friends, an excellent and very reasonably priced for the quality Portugese Restaurant. I had my favorite dish chunks of of pork and cubed fried potatoes and littleneck clams with all in a rich sauce. They have both a lunch and dinner menu.

For great south Asian, there's Southeast Asian on Market St., Lowell. It's a bit of a dive but they have some great dishes. My favorites are the char kuay teow, the larbs (they have pork, beef, chicken and shrimp) and the green papaya salad. They don't dumb down the heat much so be warned, this is spicy.

My favorite greek restaurant in New England is Athenian Corner in Lowell.

I suggest you go to the New England board and do a search. I did that recently, and ended up at a really good mexican restaruant in Lawrence which I would never have found! I believe it was called Cafe Azteca - but I realize you are not looking for Mexican!
