Bad news for blueberry lovers

  • m

Just got home from a dinner party in Graton, where this was the news around the table. We'd all thought the Green Valley Blueberry Farm was saved and were shocked to find out that the bushes were uprooted yesterday, as reported in the Press Democrat.

Sorry, Krys.

  1. Thank you, Melanie, sob, for the news.

After they failed to show this year at Ferry Plaza farmers market, I looked everywhere for news without luck. I meant to drive by when helping friends bottle their Merlot in Forestville last month, but ran out of time. (as did they, I guess).

Sometimes bad news really is better than no news. thanks again.

    1. I've got the blues, the Green Valley blueberries are gone blues ...

      Thanks for the obit.

While they were not as good, I wonder if the farm next door to Green Valley is still growing blueberries.

      1. Heartbreak. Every June I would mark the calendar to get a flat of blueberries from Green Valley - I still have a small container of the tiny blueberries in the freezer— more flavorful than those huge, plump tasteless blueberries.
