Local Source for Vegetarian Marshmellows

I hear a lot of rumors that prepared vegetarian marshmallows are available for purchase in the bay area, but it never pans out...

Does anyone know of a store that sells vegetarian marshmallows 'round these parts? The kids are clamoring for s'mores on our next camping trip.

Note: kosher marshmallows are not vegetarian: they're made w/ fish gelatin.

Thanks for your help. You're swell!

I thought Whole Foods carries Tiny Trapeze Confections which makes vegan marshmallows

If not Whole Foods you could try Rainbow Grocery. If all else fails you may have to order online.

I'll give Rainbow Groc a call tomorrow.

        Thanks!

Nope. They don't. And nowhere else I've called does either. I've gotten responses like, "The company that made them went out of business." and "Wow! Is there such a thing?!"

Looks like I'll have to order them online/ make my own.

The Whole Foods in Berkeley-when last I checked for marshmallows-*did* have the Tiny Trapeze marshmellow cream which was delicious, but did not really work for the S'mores in a camping setting (Uncommonly sticky goo+dirt+small kids= bad scene).

        I'll check again, however. Thanks!
