weekend buffet brunch 50 people--midtwn, mur hill, gram

Need to host a post-wedding 2 hour brunch on a Sunday for 50 people and would like to have it buffet style and some room to walk around--any ideas in $20-$30 range?

Turkish Kitchen has a Sunday buffet brunch for $17.95pp (drinks, tax & tip not included). Though I've had lunch and dinner there countless times, I've never done the brunch because I don't like buffets. However, Hounds who have tried it say it's excellent. No surprise, really, because TK's food is always well-prepared and delicious. The restaurant is on two levels, so they should have no problem accommodating a crowd of your size, and their website indicates that they do private parties. The brunch menu is there as well.

Cibo is on the corner of 2nd Av. & 41st St. Their food is very good, and the space is large enough to accommodate a big party. Normally, their brunch is table service ($17.95 prix-fixe). However, since they do private functions, they might be willing to do a buffet for you. Whether the cost would remain within your budget is the question.

You might want to check at a hotel in that area. You could also try the Princeton or Harvard Clubs if you have some type of "in". Sorry, but that's such a big group that I'm not sure what to suggest on such notice. Hopefully, there are better informed diners out there!
