Pure Food and Wine
Has anyone been here recently? How is the food? What are the prices like? What would you recommend? I'm thinking of trying it out soon but I want to know if it will be worth my time or not. :)
I ate at Pure recently and enjoyed it. We ate outside and I thought it was one of the nices outdoor dining spots in the city. I'm not a vegetarian, but thought the food was good, not great. I believe we had 2 apps, 2 entrees, dessert and a bottle of wine. The bill wasn't cheap, about $170 with tip. Apps were in the $10 range and entrees over $20. The lasagna was the best dish. Can't really remember what else we had. The food was good enough and interesting (attractive, well plated, etc..) but the outdoor space was definitely the highlight.
A friend went this week and came back raving: "Dinner tonight at PF&W was maybe my best ever. Very strong, at the level of a good meal at WD-50." Wow. (He's been a number of times.)
I was there a few months ago. I found it pretentious and unfulfilling. And most of the dishes were not that tasty. Next up- Unpure Victuals and Booze!
