  • 7

Oh goody, looks like lucky me might get dragged imminently into a lunch at Buca di Beppo (Berpo?). Any suggestions what best to order to minimize damage and optimize chances for survival?

  1. Salad.

    1. The Chicken dishes are decent, but so unhealthy (Chicken Quarters attop a mountain of mashed potatoes...

Stay away... no RUN away from the garlic bread and Tiramisu... those things aren't just bad... they are ATTROCITIES...

I second that on the tiramisu. Soaked in espresso=good. Drowned in rum AND espresso=bad. Desserts should not contain alcohol if it's not baked away. You will literally get a buzz from the tiramisu.

      2. Stick with the simple things.

Spaghetti marinara and Margherita Pizza are safe bets.

I actually find the chicken dishes too dry, but then that could be said for alot of chicken dishes at many restaurants ..

        1. The warm spinach salad is good. I've never had a problem with their pizza either.

          1. Linguini & clams is not on the menu but they make it and do it very well.

            1. Cute. You know, I wanted to not like BdB the first time I went here, but I just can't do it. IMO (and maybe I'm just not picky enough), but I think they do what they do pretty well, at least at the one location I've been to (the one at the Irvine Marketplace). I've been back maybe 4 or 5 times in the past few years and I've found it to be consistently good (again, for what it is and what you're paying).

I'd recommend their pizzas, their Macaroni Rossa and their chicken parmigiana.
