Where's the Romance?

Looking for favorite romantic spots in DC--places that you and that special someone (or someones) always fall back on or can't wait for a reason to go to. I'm thinking less of lavish and gorgeous--e.g. not Citronelle or 1789--but places where the atmosphere is just right for some reason. Can be a dive, a hole in the wall or just someplace comfortable.

A few that come to mind for me:

Bistrot Lafayette in Old Town Alexandria
La Tomate in Dupont
Afghan Grill in Woodley Park
Dino in Cleveland Park

I happen to think that Firefly near Dupont Circle is incredibly romantic. The tables ARE close together, but that contributes to the cozy atmosphere.

I find Mie N Yu to be overpriced and pretentious despite the cool atmoshpere.

Top choice would be the Tabard Inn

Other places with a good atmosphere, are cozy, and have good service:

La Ferme in Chevy Chase

Not exactly in DC, but Le Tire Bouchon in Fairfax City. My significant other and I have been going there for most special occasions since they opened and I have yet to be disappointed.
