Burbank Media Center/Glendale border - need lunch suggestions please!

Hellooooo -

I just started a new job near the Burbank Media Center (I am in Glendale, on the border), and need ideas for a healthy lunch. I've already tried Market City Cafe (it's all right, good bread basket), some Greek place that was way overpriced, a Thai restaurant that was quite good, and Wahoo's Fish Tacos in the mall.

I'm looking for two kinds of places:

1) Regular restaurants that feature a good variety of salads and other healthy eats.

2) Healthy restaurants where their whole pitch is healthy.

Does that make sense? I'm just not familiar with the area at all, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

  1. I work just on the Burbank side of that border, and I don't have a lot of good news for you, unfortunately. There are decent salads at the Corner Bakery (but not sure how healthy) -- the seafood salad at (of all places) IKEA is pretty decent, but there's not really a salad place nearby.

I'd love to have someone contradict me...

    1. There's a place a little further over in Glendale on Glenoaks
      called Sidewalk Cafe.

They do really nice sandwiches and salads there, but if you're
on a diet, you may want to forego it.......

Because, they've also got a Coldstone Creamery inside.

Good salads, pasta, coffee drinks, etc.

      1. I've always liked the lunch buffet at India's Tandoori
        142 N San Fernando Blvd
        Burbank, CA
        Phone: (818) 846-7500

No ambience at all, service can be a challenge, but for a quickie lunch at a good price, i'll come back again. Love their garlic nan.

I second India's Tandoori - nothing special, but...not bad for Burbank!

        2. Porto's Cuban bakery. Not necessarily healthy, but darn good.

Or the newer incarnation of Porto's on Hollywood Way at Magnolia, if more convenient. Parking in Glendale is really bad, yet it is not a wonderful pleasure in Burbank, but they do have a decent-sized lot in back.

          2. The little shack near the Equestrian Center on Riverside, the Riverside Cafe, supposedly has veggie soups and good salads.

North End Pizzeria downtown has good salads, too.
