Peter Havens will be closed the weekend that I am in Brattleboro. What are the good restaurants in the area?

If you're looking for the same type of food, it will depend on how far you want to drive. you could try Max's in West Brattleboro, TJ Buckley's in Brattleboro or the Putney Inn in Putney about 10 minutes from Brattleboro.
You could travel to the Deerfield Valley ( Wilmington/West Dover area) where there are several good restaurants.

Max's was good but I haven't been to Peter Havens, so can't compare.

If you're interested in ethnic food at all - Dhaba is a great Indian restaurant (north of the Rotary, part of the Quality Inn).

Also the Thai restaurant (Thai Garden?) in downtown Brattleboro is very good. Their wine list actually has a Riesling and a Gewurtztraminer that both go very well with spicy dishes.

Shin La is a combination sushi bar/Korean restaurant and their food is good as well.
