Veg-friendly in Tokyo?

spyturtle008 Jul 20, 2006 02:11 AM

I have a friend who is currently visiting Tokyo. He is vegetarian (no fish / seafood), so finding good spots to eat will no doubt be a bit of a challenge. Does anyone have any recommendations for places he could try / things to order? He is staying in Shinagawa and will be spending some time in Shinjuku, but anywhere in Tokyo would be great to know about. Thanks in advance!

My favorite vegetarian restaurant in the city is Sen. The chef, Yumiko Kano, also offers cooking classes out of the school. I have been attending for several years now. She also has some great Japanese cookbooks on vegetarian cooking.

If you go to my website and do a search for "Sen" under the blogs the address is listed there.

Thank you!! I will pass this information along. My friend will be around for a few more days yet, so if there are any other veg or veg-friendly spots in Tokyo, I'd be grateful to hear!
