Looking for the following around hell's kitchen/midtown west: good pizza (either by the slice or by the pie), good ice cream (not ben & jerry's or cold stone), good produce . . . extra bonus points for good coffee in the area.

thanks.

Hell's Kitchen - my "home away from home" because good Chowhound friends live right there. Some suggestions:

Try Claudio's Pizza at the corner of 42 (?) and 9th; good basic pizza with oddball toppings like ziti.

The Chelsea Grill at 675 9th Ave has good-quality ingredients for basic food, and their own homemade potato chips.

For produce, there is supposed to be a greenmarket newly opened in Hell's Kitchen, but I don't have any info on this.

And not too far from this neighborhood on 44th between Broadway and 8th is Times Square Bagels (not on your list but they're so divine I had to mention them), real honest baked and boiled bagels.

        Yum.
