Gig Harbor Recs?

Spending a few days in Gig Harbor next week. Any suggestions, winners, losers? I've seen the Tacoma postings lately (and thanks), but how about Gig Harbor?

Do NOT got to Isa Mira on Harborview Drive in Gig Harbor..I was there a couple of months ago, it looks cute and all but I got the absolute worst case of food poisining I have had in years! Services is also spotty and can be rude but I hoped the food would make up for it.

Just happened to be poking around in Gig Harbor a couple of days ago.
"Kelly's" was a cute, country-store kinda place for breakfast and lunch. On Pioneer Way. We had a very nice, inexpensive breakfast. Staff is very friendly. No views of the water, but the food was good.
If you want Japanese, Bistro Satsuma on Point Fosdick Road is very good. An unlikely strip-mall setting for great Japanese food prepared by a really good chef.

Thanks for the info. Beach House sounds like what we're looking for in the area. I recall some postings about The Green Turtle some years ago that were also good, so that needs to be looked at, and as Leper said, The Tides is an institution.

Steve, The Green Turtle is also very good. (You will need reservations as it's very small.) A Gig Harbor instituion is the Tides Tavern. It's a good visit for lunch and sitting on the deck basking in global warming.

Beach House at Purdy--lovely food and excellent service. Sprigs of fresh herbs and whole garlic cloves fried with the shoestring fries! Just for starters.
