In-Laws Want to Eat Californian in SF

They're flying in tomorrow and would like to eat Californian for dinner, but nowhere too formal. Any ideas? The northern part of SF would be preferable.

We just had a spectacular dinner at Greens in Fort Mason (how north can you get?) in the Marina. It's veggie but not vegan. Lots of great veggies and fruit. The food is wonderful even if you usually don't like veggie entrees. I had a great morel mushroom tart a couple of weeks ago.

And it overlooks the water and has a view of the GG Bridge.

i agree zuni is the perfect choice.
it's only about a 10 min drive from the northern most part of SF to Zuni, so it shouldnt be too far out of your way.

Zuni Cafe is exemplary CA but dunno if that's *north* enough for you.
