Good food near Main Street Station

My new home near Main St. station is surrounded by greasy spoons and "chinese canadian" restaurants which all look exactly the same from the outside and are mostly populated by less-than-desirable looking people drinking beer all day long. Does anyone have any recommendations for good food of any kind within walking distance of Main and Danforth?

Cool Runnings is great...it is on Main just south of Gerrard..It is a small Jamacian place it is reasonably priced, frendly service, fantastic food. The jerk wings are nicely spiced...plantain is only $1, my fav is jerk goat with peas and rice and slaw...for $8.
If you want to walk a bit west on Danforth there is always Relish..also fantastic

Absolutely. Try Basil Thai Kitchen at 2326 Danforth Avenue (near Toronto Honda). Excellent food and respectable prices. Harry, the original owner, retired a couple of years ago. But he trained Basil, who bought the restaurant from him - and learned the master's best tricks along the way.
