Sorella Rose in Flourtown for Brunch?
Anyone had brunch here? Just looking for a decent, inexpensive brunch for a family gathering. Alternate suggestions are welcome.
Sorry, don't know much about Sorella Rose, but weren't you the one looking for something in Elkins Park? It didn't occur to me at the time, but I just realized that Little Dipper might meet your criteria. It is not at all fancy, just a cute, informal local place. It's right in Elkins Park, and tends toward a Jewish deli-style brunch: bagels and lox, salami and eggs, etc. They do have some other typical breakfast/brunch things as well. The food is very good, though the service is a little slow. It's a great place to bring kids, if they are part of your group. If you have people in your group who mind a few kids running around, you might want to go elsewhere.
I've never been to Sorella Rose for brunch but I've been there a few times for dinner. Very attractive place, friendly service, good food (nothing spectacular, but good). I think it would be fine for a family brunch.
I have been to Sorella Rose for brunch several times. It is fine, but certainly not exceptional. You order several hot items from a menu and everything else (Fruit, cereal, danish, a few salads) is on buffet. The buffet is not presented with much special attention, but the hot foods are very good.
Recently however, we have found the brunch at the Drafting Room in Spring House to be much better for the price. Many more selections, presented nicely.
Both can easily accommodate groups.
I've been there once for a banquet brunch and it was ok. It was kind of old fashioned and stuffy for my taste. I recall there were some tacky 1980's style murals painted on the wall, which kind of turned me off. Agree that the Drafting Room has a good brunch. I also heard good things about brunch at Agave in Ambler, though I have yet to try it.
