Squash Blossoms With Squash Still Attached

Berk Bowl used to sell the blossoms with the small squash attached. I prepped them exactly as if they were only the blossoms, but that little barely cooked crunch adds something I love.

Now I can't find them.

  1. Try farmer's markets. I know I've seen them fridays in Oakland Chinatown.

    1. If you want to come to SF, there are a couple of farmers at the Saturday Ferry Plaza market that have had the zucchini blossoms you describe the past couple weeks, but the blossoms have been very small, too small to stuff easily if that's your goal. I like the big blossoms with just the stem attached (I think those are the "male" ones) (?) for stuffing, and I use the smaller ones sauteed, and in frittatas, risotto, etc. and slice up the baby squash and include in the saute, frittata or risotto.

      1. Call the Bowl and ask when they'll get them in.

        1. I got some at the new Temescal Farmers' Market on Sunday. They lovely. $2.50 for a basket of them, I think
