fancy lunch for 15 women - 60th birthday

Somewhere nice and upscale, probably not ethnic. I was thinking of Payard but that won't work.

Thanks

Rene Pujol is a good place for lunch (or dinner). Elegant and the food is great. I know it's a pre-theater place but it's not like the others; definately a good place to eat

How about Jean-Georges, Daniel, Asiate in the Mandarin Oriental is wonderful (I don't know if this is too ethnic for what you are looking for), Bouley, Felidia, L'Impero...

Note that Daniel does not serve lunch. However, Cafe Boulud does and would be a fine option.

Eleven Madison Park is another terrific place to celebrate a special occasion.

Aimee, if you have not already done so you may want to re-post this on the board for the city/region in which you are looking.
