Doneckers in Lancaster
Has anyone been to the Restaurant or the Inn? I saw they have a multi course fixed price dinner and wine pairing. The menu is listed on their website and looks good. Is it worth it? Any positive or negative reviews will be appreciated. My husband and I are planning a mini vacation and are considering going there.
Doneckers serves a "French American" cuisine for their fine dining. If you join for lunch, you can expect reasonably priced salads, sandwiches and entrees. (the short ribs are fantastic!) I've always been pleased when eating there. While the cost is a bit higher than some Lancaster County restaurants, I don't give that much creedence considering my opinion of other local "fine dining" establishments. Honestly, I don't find many that I'm content with paying $29 for my entree at because of a lack of service, taste, etc. I feel completely opposite about Doneckers! I'm happy to plunk down $30 a plate now and then to enjoy sumptuous cuisine and stellar service.
I have been there a few times, none in the past year or two. It is quite good. It is not my favorite place, but I've never had a bad experience there. The menu is a little different than what you see in most Lancaster establishments. Most people looking for a relatively upscale experience seem to like it.
