Searching for some REALLY good herbal iced tea....any ideas?

I am craving some excellent herbal iced tea. I have had some good iced tea at wichcraft, but since they moved from Union Square, they are not anywhere near where I live.

I would love to hear about any places that have it, preferably between 14th street and 34th street...give or take a few blocks.

there's a super tiny place called gramstand on irving btwn 18th and 19th. they make the tea to order so it takes a while but it's quite worth it.

there is a place on 8th street, west of broadway, right across the street from johnny rockets, that has a large selection of tasty fresh made herbal & tea iced teas in the cooler just as you walk inside. good stuff.

the new tea place on 14th st west of union square has good iced teas too.

tavalon, on 14th street between university place and 5th ave, has very good iced green tea. my favorite is the lemon green, which is made with lemongrass, and the mint flavor is quite good as well.

I know this isn't in Manhattan - and thus not even close to what you asked - but the best iced teas I've ever had were at the Freeze Peach Café in Astoria. You pick one of their wide selection and they make iced tea for you. My fave: the vanilla iced tea - vanilla-flavoured black tea, to which I added vanilla soymilk.

I'll second your rave about Freeze Peach. It's a bit quirky but I like the tea, and their coffee is excellent too. Reasonable prices and a friendly crowd that frequents the place. It's one of my favorite cafes in Astoria.
