Aphrodisiac Foods

Joanna22 Jul 17, 2006 10:46 PM

I am trying to make a special meal for my boyfriend and want to include some Aphrodisiac foods. Does anyone have any good ideas of what I could make? I saw some other posts about this, and was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions. Has anyone else done this for their significant other? Was it fun?

Oysters and Champagne? Not really oyster season though.

I have this book called "Booty Food" by Jacqui Maloof that has a list...they said stuff with Zinc.

Chicken has zinc. That's one reason why chicken soup works so well to combat colds.

      Aphrodisiacs, hhmmmm.
      Try this list: http://www.mypleasure.com/education/sexed/edible_aphrodisiacs.asp

Stick with seafood. Try anything suggestive also. Rotini pasta maybe.

My mom said her mom told her tapioca was an aphrodisiac (this would have been around 60 years ago). Rice pudding also has a reputation....

I heard on that reality show where they try to get those women dates that cherries are a anti-aphrodisiac.

There are two fun cookbooks I have about this: "Seduction and Spice" and another called "Intercourses." The first gives the fun histories of seduction and foods from around the world with wonderful receipes and menu suggestions. It's quite poetic and inspiring to read. I'm jealous...hope you have fun. I always thought that the scene in 9 1/2 weeks in the kitchen was pretty sexy. No cooking involved there.

It may be cliche but I used strawberries and champagne on my NOW wife........

If you're with the right partner, and have satin sheets, any food is an aphrodisiac. I've found very few women able to resist chocolate-covered matzoh and a chilled Italian Rose.
