Frustrating night at Om Tibet
Just wanted to mention a disappointing experience Saturday night at Om Tibet...
My mother was in town, and had never had Tibetan food. I suggested we try Himilayan Yak, but they were closed for a private party. Heading back toward Indian restaurants I know and love, she spotted Om Tibet, and we thought it was worth a shot.
And it was, the food was tasty, and fairly affordable, but the service was potentially a reason to get takeout from now on.
We were only two people, and not all that hungry. Still, we ordered two entrees and an order of momo. The waitress/hostess didn't seem satisfied with our order and kept trying to push more food on us. I relented and agreed to try the chicken corn soup. Then she started in on drinks and only reluctantly let us get away with only water.
And then we never saw her again until I eventually flagged her down for the check. And the only reason we ever got refils on our drinks was because the table behind us snagged the pitcher of water and was pouring their own.
The place was busy, but not crazy, and it's fairly small. We had way more food than we wanted, and left with a bad taste in our mouths despite the good chow.
There's no lack of great places to eat around here, but I sure am disappointed to find one I don't like.
