Here's my ranking of the three Indian lunch buffets I've tried in Central Square. Do add your experiences...

* Royal Bengal: despite their interesting dinner menu, the lunch is pretty standard boring Punjab food. However, it's fairly well-prepared, has nice variety, and even includes an egg curry. The aroma of charring eggplants coming from the kitchen was nice- I left smeeling smoky.

* Desi Dhaba: Not particularly delicious or memorable.

* Ghandi: By far the worst. Small selection, bland flavors (especially the tikka masala... it's a fake Indian dish but if you're gonna make it you should at least make it delicious), and gross ambience that includes a number of flies.

The Indian places I've most enjoyed in the area are Punjabi Dhaba, Kabab and Tandoor, and Chennai Woodlands, each representing a pretty different type of food.

The other Central buffets include India Pavillion, Shalimar, and Border India. Are these any better?
