ISO Chinese (?) pastry recipe

When I was very little, at summer camp, I remember one of the counselors was a Chinese (not Chinese-American) woman who occupied a small group of us one afternoon with cooking.
I'm hoping to recreate the finished product out of nostalgia; a google search turned up nothing.
The pastry was very sweet and involved peanut butter, honey and maybe sesame. It was baked. I think it was flaky, like an elephant ear, but thicker, denser and heavier.
I'm hoping this is something real, and not something invented on the spot.
