I live in the South Bay, so I head over to the Torrance farmers market on Saturdays- on Crenshaw between Carson and Sepulveda in Wilson Park. Its pretty big, with a good selection, and has good lunch vendors as well.

Yup, Santa Monica's organic market. I went for the first time last week and was really impressed. However, they don't have many food vendors... just veggies! :)

There are 2 in Santa Monica. The Arizona Organic FM and the the Pico FM which for a while was the Santa Monica Airport. Of the two markets I prefer the Pico market. The prices are better on average and I find the vendors friendlier.

in the pico market, I have a regular Mushroom guy who frequently has really good Criminis. The Lady who sells the Lillys fertlized eggs is great. Ken's produce has the best stone fruits I've ever had. There are food vendors including an awsome mexican [mayo] corn guy decent sausage vendor and Tamale vendor. They had more space and a few more vendors and better parking at the airport but it for now is my favorite market, with the Culver City tuesday makret as a second and Hollywood as my third [it is harder for us to get to the Hollywood one]

I will head to the Saturday Arizona for some special things like the fish vendor there has some great stuff but she has not had the Hot Smoked Salmon in a while, and if my mushroom guy has not shown up.

        Take care

        -P.

Yes - I second the Sat Pico market in Santa Monica. In addition to the vendors P. mentioned, one of the larger "greens" vendors, run by (I think) a Chinese family, is awesome; I have yet to find a rival on selection and quality. Also, Avila farms for dried fruit and nuts, and Clean-Living for ADDICTIVE soaps and lotions.
