The Pink Door?

2 East Coast couples going to Seattle next week to see some Red Sox/Mariners games. We are looking for a nice place to dine one night. One member of our party is kinda picky. He loves italian food though. Would anyone recommend the Pink Door? Any other thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Thank you everyone. Sounds like a place for just drinks and apps on the terrace.

On a beautiful evening, it's quite nice to sit out on the terrace at the Pink Door - even if it's just for a drink and appetizers.

If your going with someone who's picky about Italian (they will definitely be disappointed in the Pink Door), go to Osteria La Spiga. It's on Capitol Hill, a short cab/bus ride or long walk from downtown. They specialize in the cuisine of Emilia-Romagna, so it's not your typical Italian-American type place, and everything is great. Il Terrazzo as posted above is another good (but pricier and less casual) option.

Closer to Safeco Field and also excellent Italian is Il Terrazo Carmine. In fact it's walking distance to the stadium.

My sister and her husband, who live in Seattle, have been to the Pink Door many, many times (and they continue to do so). It's one of their favorite restaurants, and they have extremely discriminating taste.

When I traveled to Seattle, they treated me to dinner there a couple of times. I cannot remember what I ordered, because it's been a while since I was in Seattle, but I do remember this wonderful garlic appetizer. It's essentially a whole clove garlic with olive oil that you use as a spread with bread. This appetizer was excellent, and the entrees were also excellent, if my memory serves me correctly.
