So, I finally got around to reading Bourdain's Kitchen Confidential, and the chapter about Scott Bryan and Veritas had me drooling. I am wanting to make reservations for my boyfriend's birthday there - he's more of a foddie than me even. I was wondering if anyone had any recent feedback and any reason(s) why I should certainly take him there or maybe somewhere else. THANKS.

  1. veritas is a solid destination. fois gras is a major winner. so's the wine.

    1. Those who read this board regularly know that I'm a huge fan of Veritas. Been there many times and have always had a thorougly satisfying experience.

      While the extraordinary wine list is what most people tend to think about when they think of Veritas, Chef Scott Bryan's superb cuisine is, in my estimation, reason enough to go there. I am a foie gras addict, and I agree totally with steve h. that Chef Bryan's foie gras preparations are always to die for. He is also a wizard with fish, but not too shabby with lamb, duck, beef... I think you get the picture, i.e., you can't go wrong no matter what you decide to have.

      Service is friendly and professional. The dining room is small with stylish contemporary decor, and the noise level is conversation friendly.

      So, yes, definitely go to Veritas. Enjoy and Bon Appetit!
